Before I started volunteering at King Dunn Community Ministry I was always complaining to everyone that my life felt empty. Now my life has purpose and all I ever think about is what is going on today at Shalom House. I like going to the market, cooking in the kitchen or planning meals. This was the first time I had ever volunteered anyhere and it makes me feel good that people look forward to my soup on Mondays. Volunteering as Tom's helper has been an incredible experience that gives me a reason to get up every day.
