Triumph Through Resistance

On Wednesday, Feb 25th the Jane Finch Community Ministry, St. James Faith and Life group and the TWP Social Justice and Community Ministries sub-group sponsored a Toronto West Presbytery Black History Event at St James United.

A local Jane and Finch group called “Drum Theatre Togetherness” provided a performance called Triumph Through Resistance. It was a lively presentation of Afro-Caribbean dance, drumming and theatre. The event was not only extremely entertaining but was highly educational in promoting an understanding of the oppressive struggles of the Black community and positive contributions that Black individuals have made to society.
